Leeds United under-23 player ratings as Bate, Joseph and van den Heuvel shine in Arsenal draw

Leeds United (4-2-3-1)

1 Dani ven den Heuvel

Made several excellent saves, especially in the second half, to keep Arsenal out as Leeds pushed to win the match. 8

2 Jamie Shackleton

Playing his first football in more than two months and will be pleased to get the whole game under his belt. Stayed under the radar. Battled and showed a decent turn of speed. 6

4 Nohan Kenneh

Very assured, just not quite called into action as much as Jeremiah Mullen. 7

5 Jeremiah Mullen

Some brilliant tackles and blocks as the last man or in the penalty box during a goalmouth scramble or two. Could have won it with some dancing feet of his own in the latter stages. 8

3 Leo Hjelde

Went into the book in the second half after several hefty challenges in a row. Raided forward well down the left at times. 7

6 Jack Jenkins (c)

Outshone by some of his team-mates, but solid and combative in the middle. 6

8 Lewis Bate

Really turned it on at times in the second half as the team chased that crucial second goal. Low centre of gravity, power, dribbling and ability guided him past players for fun. Shots and passes caused problems across the final third. 8

11 Stuart McKinstry

Struggled to make an impact on the game and was taken off before the hour mark. 5

10 Archie Gray

Always asked for the ball and vocalised his desire to get Leeds back into the game. Just didn't quite have those special moments which turned the match. 6

7 Sean McGurk

Got the goal he deserved. Seemed to be at the heart of everything effective Leeds did, especially in the first hour. 8

9 Mateo Joseph

Seems to be going from strength to strength now he has settled into the under-23 unit. Always busy and always looks a threat. Pace, strength, height and composure. Scored the winner, but saw it chalked off for a poor offside call. 8
