Leeds United U23s finally played their postponed Premier League Cup decider against Mansfield Town U23s on Monday, March 7.
While other sides have already played their first knockout fixture in this year's edition of the competition, Leeds' postponement due to a waterlogged pitch last month meant the young Whites concluded their final Group E match today.
Mansfield were defeated 2-1 in the reverse fixture at York's LNER Community Stadium last December, but knew a two-goal victory over Leeds would ensure progression to the knockout rounds.
Leeds, on the other hand, were only in need of a point to guarantee their place in the next round, which they secured courtesy of Joe Littlewood's second half equaliser.
Here are LeedsLive's U23 player ratings from the Whites' 1-1 draw versus Mansfield Town U23s.
Dani van den Heuvel (GK) - 7
Dealt well with Mansfield's cutbacks from the byline and little he could do for the Stags' opening goal during the first half. Some strong punches from Mansfield corners. Commanded his area well.
Harvey Sutcliffe - 7
Carried the ball well and stretched the pitch. Stayed relatively organised at the back.
Joe Littlewood - 8
Several decisive blocks and interceptions. A solid, old-school defensive display. Partnered well with Moore.
Kris Moore - 9
Encouraging display, leading the team from centre-back. Moore maintained his positioning well through the game, snuffing out danger by simply ensuring he was in the right place at the right time.
Liam McCarron - 7
McCarron and marauding runs down the left are synonymous with any Leeds U23 performance - today was no different. The Scot possesses good speed with the ball at his feet and made plenty of inroads down the flank, overlapping Amari Miller on his side. Execution of his final pass wasn't always there but provided an impetus.
Jack Jenkins - 6
Stationed at the base of midfield, Jenkins was tasked with starting moves, spreading play and anchoring the side. Mansfield's attack which led to the game's opening goal did come through the middle.
Charlie Allen - 6
Energy aplenty but couldn't get his foot on the ball enough to create anything of worth. Struck the crossbar late on with a well-timed half-volley, but squandered two other, arguably simpler, opportunities.
Joe Snowdon - 6
A fractious game meant Snowdon's efforts to dictate the tempo and progress attacks from central midfield was limited.
Stuart McKinstry - 6
Set-piece delivery a high point, as it so often is for McKinstry. Physical nature of the game meant he found it difficult to showcase his technical capabilities in open play.
Amari Miller - 7
Linked up with Liam McCarron and made the occasional diagonal run into the penalty area in a bid to latch onto a through-ball, but Miller was largely left frustrated.
Max Dean - 8
Spun his man on the edge of the box midway through the first half, and clipped the post with a curling effort, but couldn't find the net. The youngster went up against former Premier League player James Perch at centre-half; the ex-Newcastle man twice Dean's age. Unselfish play on the right-hand side once Mateo Joseph was introduced. Hit the woodwork late on for a second time.
Substitutes
Keenan Carole - 6
A second-half introduction, Carole tucked in at left-back and made sure he wasn't beaten down that side. Had the occasional opportunity to burst forward.
Mateo Joseph - 7
Another late introduction from the bench, but Joseph displayed good speed and a centre-forward's nous to link-up with his teammates in the final third. Promising from the January addition.
