Alan Shearer included two Leeds United players in his Premier League Team of the Week after Friday evening’s dramatic 3-2 victory. It was the first time the Whites had come behind to win in the league for over 13 months, since the 3-1 win against Leicester City last season.
With his side 2-0 down, decimated by injuries and right up against it at Molineux, Jesse Marsch must have feared the worst but his players, aided by the dismissal of Raul Jimenez, found a way to pick up a vital victory. Jonny and Francisco Trincao’s first-half goals were cancelled out within a mad three-minute period just after the hour mark.
Quickfire goals from Jack Harrison and Rodrigo laid the foundations for Luke Ayling to steal all three points in stoppage time in the West Midlands. The winner from the Leeds right-back was his second goal of the season and Shearer felt it was more than enough to justify his inclusion in his Team of the Week.

He said: "Superb in the second-half revival and crowned display with the winner." Despite some nervy moments at the end, Leeds were able to see out the win thanks to a couple of key saves from Kristoffer Klaesson.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper was brought on as a second-half replacement for Illan Meslier after he was clattered in the challenge that led to Jimenez’s second yellow card. It wasn’t necessarily how he would have envisaged his Premier League debut to come about but he impressed and Shearer believed he was the stand-out goalkeeper from the limited amount of top-flight fixtures this weekend.
The ex-England striker explained his inclusion by saying: "Came on for his Premier League debut after Illan Meslier was taken off and made two world-class saves late on to help Leeds to a dramatic 3-2 win.” After masterminding the brilliant comeback, Marsch was the third Whites representative to be included in the team by Shearer as he was picked out as the Manager of the Week.
