Leeds United transfer rumours as Whites to test PSG resolve for Arnaud Kalimuendo

A round-up of the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Tuesday, 21 June.

Whites ready to test PSG resolve for Arnaud Kalimuendo

According to Tutto Mercato, Leeds United are set to push Ligue 1 giants PSG hard for Arnaud Kalimuendo. The 20-year-scored 13 times on loan for RC Lens last season in Ligue 1 and has made quite the name for himself.

The report claims Andrea Radrizzani is a fan of the youngster and wants to bolster the Whites' attacking options next season after a difficult campaign. The French youth international is valued at £17million at the Parc Des Princes but he has only played a handful of games under Mauricio Pochettino.

The youngster is capable of playing through the middle or on either flank which would provide Jesse Marsch with versatility in the final third.

Arsenal look to steal march on Barcelona and Spurs as Raphinha Leeds United saga rumbles on

Arsenal have reportedly taken on pole position in the race for Raphinha as the Gunners look to pip Barcelona, Tottenham and Chelsea to the Whites winger. Mikel Arteta’s side have been eyeing the Brazilian for some time and, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano , they have entered ‘direct negotiations’ with Leeds ahead of their rivals.

Barcelona have been heavily linked with a deal in recent weeks but have gone unusually quiet. Their valuation of the 25-year-old is thought to be some way below Leeds’ and, with no obligation to sell their talisman, the Whites have no reason to lower their asking price - believed to be around £55-65million.

Raphinha and Barcelona have had personal terms agreed for months and it has been reported that the player’s agent - former Barca midfielder Deco - has blocked other moves as they await the Catalan giants official approach, but the Leeds winger is growing impatient as Xavi’s side stall in their efforts and try to find the cash.

Leeds already have Raphinha replacement at the club

Noel Whelan claims Leeds United already have the ideal replacement for Raphinha if the Brazilian leaves Elland Road this summer. He told Football Insider: "That opportunity is definitely there. If Raphinha leaves there is an opening in that position.

“Summerville has a very successful campaign with the Under-23s. When you look at the grand scheme of things, everyone has a dip in the season. There is no doubts that this young man has talent. I don’t think a decision will be taken on his future until he has been looked at properly in pre-season.

Everyone should be given an opportunity, especially the Under-23s who have been on the edge of the first team. Everyone needs an opportunity to show Jesse Marsch what they can bring to the side. Someone like Summerville could be needed next season. I don’t think any good youngsters can go out on loan until Marsch is confident that he has seen enough from them.”
