Leeds United transfer rumours as Whites 'tempted' to revisit Daichi Kamada interest

Here are your latest Leeds United transfer rumours for Friday, September 23.

Leeds 'tempted' to revisit interest in Kamada

Leeds United could be primed to revisit their interest in Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Daichi Kamada, according to The Express.

The Japanese international has stalled over a new deal with the reigning UEFA Europa League champions and is currently in the final year of his contract at the Deutsche Bank Park.

Tottenham and Leeds were both considering the possibility of signing Kamada in the summer and The Express claim that they could be 'tempted' by a pre-contract agreement in January.

Kamada has been one of the most dangerous attacking midfielders in Germany over the last three seasons. He was initially unable to break into the side in Frankfurt after arriving from Japanese outfit Sagan Tosu in 2017 and was loaned out to Sint-Truidense in Belgium.

After registering 16 goals and nine assists in Belgium, Kamada has become a key player for both club and country. He has scored 30 goals and provided 30 assists in 142 appearances across all competitions for the Eagles and has already been directly involved in seven goals in six Bundesliga games this term.

Fiorentina already keen to replace Leeds summer target

Italian outlet AS have claimed that Fiorentina are already looking to replace former Leeds target Luka Jovic. The Whites, West Ham and Brentford reportedly all enquired about the forward, but Jovic was unconvinced by a move to the Premier League.

The Serbian international joined the Serie A side on a free transfer from Real Madrid this summer and scored four goals on his debut in a pre-season friendly against Real Vicenza.

Jovic has been unable to build on his memorable debut and has netted just one goal in 10 games across all competitions. He was left on the bench for Fiorentina's home clash against Hellas Verona as the Florence-based outfit ended a run of five league games without a win (D3 L2) to prevail 2-0.

Fiorentina had been hoping that Jovic would revive his career after ending his nightmare at the Santiago Bernabeu. Jovic scored 27 times in all competitions during the second campaign of his two-year loan spell at Eintracht Frankfurt in 2018-19 but has never been able to reach those heights since.

Brereton-Diaz on his reasons for staying at Blackburn

Blackburn Rovers forward Ben Brereton-Diaz has been talking to Chilean media about the reasons that led him to stay at Ewood Park.

The 23-year-old received interest from Leeds, Wolves and West Ham in the Premier League, as well as from OGC Nice and Sevilla in France and Spain respectively. Brereton-Diaz, who scored 22 times for Rovers last term, could still leave in the near future with his contract set to expire next summer.

However, the Chilean international has insisted that his "love" for the club was the main factor behind him staying in Lancashire in the summer.

"I have been in this team for three or four years, I really love the club . The decision was to stay here and I am happy with it. I am very excited for this season, we have had a great start, I have scored some goals and we are doing well in the league , we are among the first three", Brereton-Diaz told Chilean outlet RedGol.
