Leeds United transfer rumours as Whites 'submit offer' for young Scottish talent Rangers admire

A look at the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Monday, April 24.

Leeds United 'submit offer' for young Scottish talent Rangers admire

Football Insider claims Leeds United will submit an offer for Hamilton's young Scottish talent Josh McDonald. The 16-year-old is also admired by Rangers, but the Whites are hoping to beat the Scottish giants to his signature.

The report claims Leeds have already been in contact with the youngster and his family in an attempt to convince him of a move to Yorkshire. The youngster has already made seven caps for Scotland at Under-18 level - two years above his age group.

Rangers are said to have watched the midfielder on a number of occasions this season, but Leeds are hoping the recent success of their academy and pathway into the first-team will lure McDonald to Elland Road.

Sam Greenwood, Charlie Cresswell, Crysensio Summerville, Cody Drameh and Joe Gelhardt are all notable youngsters that have broken into the senior set-up.

Seven Leeds United players told 'not to come back for pre-season'

Former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor has told seven Leeds United players not to come back for pre-season following a dismal run of results. The defeat to Fulham leaves the Whites cut to just one point following Leicester City's win over Nottingham Forest and Everton's draw with Crystal Palace.

Speaking to Football Insider prior to the Fulham defeat, Agbonlahor said: "I’d strip the whole back four. I’d tell them not to come back to pre-season. Koch, Struijk, Ayling, Firpo, Kristensen – they’re not good enough.

“They can’t defend, they’ve got no pace, they ball-watch. Liam Cooper is on the bench and can’t even get a game.

“I just look at Leeds, and it looks like the future. If they stay up, it’ll just happen again next season. They aren’t good enough.

“McKennie as well, I don’t know how he got a game for Juventus – because he’s terrible. The striker, Rutter, hasn’t done anything. They’ve spent good money this season, but they’ve wasted all of it.”
