Here are the Leeds United transfer news and rumours on Friday, February 3.
Charlie Cresswell almost found 'other opportunities' after deadline day interest
Leeds United loanee Charlie Cresswell almost left his loan spell at Millwall after interest in his services came to the Whites' attention on deadline day, Millwall boss Gary Rowett has confirmed.
However, the 20-year-old ended up staying at The Den where he's found it difficult to find regular first team minutes despite an impressive start to the season.
"I think there were conversations going on in the background – that there were other opportunities for Charlie," Rowett told South London Press earlier this week.
"My understanding is that he wanted to stay because he is really enjoying his time here and understands that this is all part of the process.
"Of course he wants to play more minutes. But I think he’ll get that opportunity. Sometimes as a manager, all you can do is say what you think will happen."
Nicolo Zaniolo breaks silence over 'failed' deadline day transfer amid reported Leeds United interest
Nicolo Zaniolo has claimed that he is "at the complete disposal of the Roma family" in an open letter he penned after reports linked him with a deadline day move to Leeds United.
Zaniolo was hotly tipped to move to Elland Road on deadline day as rumours surrounding Jack Harrison's future at the club continued to swirl. It was reported that Leeds were eyeing up the Roma man as a replacement for Harrison should he leave the club - yet both players remained were they were as 11pm on January 31 came and went.
Zaniolo has been somewhat exiled in Italy, with fans unfurling a banner labelling him a traitor and Jose Mourinho even admitting it was a shame that the 23-year-old will remain at the club. However, the versatile attacking midfielder has now claimed that not everything that has been reported recently has been completely accurate.
Jack Harrison reportedly 'set to sign' new Leeds United contract after aborted Leicester medical
Jack Harrison is on the verge of agreeing a new deal with Leeds United, despite undergoing a medical with Leicester City on transfer deadline day, according to reports.
Harrison was heavily linked with a move away from Elland Road on January 31 and now it seems that he was just hours away from joining Leicester on Tuesday. According to Sky Sports' Rob Dorsett, the attacking midfielder was halfway through a medical with the Foxes ahead of a potential move to the King Power Stadium when the Whites decided to pull the plug on the deal.
It is claimed that Leeds had a last-minute change of heart over letting Harrison join a relegation rival and decided to match Leicester's wage offer - a move that prompted the former New York City man to return to Elland Road. With just 18 months left on his contract, it appears that the club were - albeit briefly - willing to cash in on the 26-year-old.
