Leeds United transfer rumours as Whites face defeat in race for striker and Liverpool join full back chase

Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Friday, 22 April 2022.

Brereton-Diaz race

Leeds United are among a host of Premier League clubs set to be beaten in the race to sign Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton-Diaz this summer. That is according to TeamTalk, who claim that La Liga side Sevilla are closing in on his signature ahead of a move in the upcoming transfer window.

Leeds, along with the likes of Fulham, Brighton and West Ham United have all been linked in recent months after the 23-year-old’s best goalscoring season to date. Brereton-Diaz has scored 21 goals for Rovers this season, though only one of those has come in the calendar year of 2022.

Liverpool join Ramsay race

Liverpool have joined Leeds United and Bologna in the race to sign Aberdeen right back Calvin Ramsay this summer. That is according to Bild journalist Christian Falk, who claims that Jurgen Klopp is keen on recruiting the teenager as a backup to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Both Leeds and Bologna reportedly made offers for Ramsay late on in the January transfer window, however Aberdeen were reluctant to sell at the midway point of the season. Now competition is set to heat up even more with quadruple hopefuls Liverpool now on the trail for the talented youngster.

Rodon to leave Spurs

Antonio Conte will allow defender Joe Rodon to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer as he plans a shake up of his squad, according to the Telegraph. Rodon was linked with a move to Leeds United and Newcastle United in January but remained in North London as Spurs were unable to sign a replacement.

The 24-year-old has struggled for game time under Conte and has made just one single Premier League appearance this season. Leeds could be in the market for a new centre back this summer as they currently possess the worst defensive record in the division.
