Whites eye Luke Ayling successor
Luke Ayling has been the first choice right back since he arrived at Leeds United in 2016/17. However, he will be 31 next season and the club are beginning to think about the future in that position.
Cody Drameh is highly rated at the club but after forcing his way out for a loan move to Cardiff in January, his future may lay elsewhere.
As such, Leeds have been linked with a couple of fullbacks in recent times. Calvin Ramsay of Aberdeen was rumoured throughout the transfer window and another to crop up has been Middlesbrough fullback Djed Spence, who is spending the season on loan at Nottingham Forest.
According to Give Me Sport, Leeds are one of the teams with a keen interest in Spence.
Dean Jones said, "someone like Leeds, he fits in perfectly, but it comes down to the player and how he sees his ambition."
Spence will likely want a starting role at his next club, so any move for him could be dependent on how Leeds view a transition from one right back to another and whether they feel ready to phase Ayling out of a starting role yet.
Aaronson move could be hijacked
Leeds' primary target for the January transfer window was RB Salzburg's Brenden Aaronson and the Whites bid twice for the midfielder but saw both rejected.
Whilst the noises suggest Victor Orta will try again, Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Leeds may find any attempt to recruit him in the summer is hijacked.
"Aaronson – Leeds wanted him in January, they will try again in the summer, but I’m sure that other Premier League clubs will jump into this potential deal from Salzburg."
Having failed to secure their man in January, Leeds may now find themselves in a bidding war as they seek to bring Aaronson to Elland Road.
Pundit doubts West Ham Raphinha bid
The last few days of the transfer window saw some late drama as Leeds were said to receive bids of £50millio for both Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips.
However, pundit and ex-player Alan Hutton has cast doubt over the legitimacy of those claims:
"I just sit here and think: ‘Did they (bid for him)? Is it one of these ones where you put out a story saying we’ve tried to sign someone for £50million," Hutton told Football Insider.
"Are you even going to get him for that? I don’t think so."
