Ultimately, no move for Egan was made by Leeds, as the Whites opted to stick with what they had at centre-back in Liam Cooper, Robin Koch, Pascal Struijk and Diego Llorente.
However, the Hammers are now reportedly interested in signing Egan for around £12m in January, according to the Sun's Alan Nixon.
Leeds United linked young shot stopper leaves Celtic
Leeds United could be set to land 16-year-old shot stopper Rory Mahady on a free after the teenager opted to leave Celtic.
Taking to Instagram last weekend, Mahady confirmed he had left the Scottish giants after nine years, leaving his options for any future career move wide open.
Leeds had been credited with interest in Mahady towards the end of the summer transfer window, with Football Insider claiming the Whites had agreed a deal to sign the teenager from Celtic.
However, nothing concrete emerged at the end of August, but time will tell whether or not his Celtic departure means he is heading to Elland Road.
