Leeds United transfer rumours as Steven Gerrard wants Phillips and Ten Hag targets Raphinha

Here is the latest Leeds United transfer gossip for Monday, May 23:

Phillips is Gerrard's 'leading target'

A story in the Telegraph today said that Aston Villa boss Steve Gerrard has a chunky transfer kitty this season and his number one target is Leeds United 's Kalvin Phillips. How Phillips would feel about a move to Villa is unknown.

The Telegraph wrote : "The Villa head coach wants at least two other major signings, with Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips a leading target."

Since selling Jack Grealish to Manchester City, Villa have spent a lot of cash and are clearly building a team in the hope of European qualification. Already they have signed Brazilian Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona.

Ten Hag to 'target' Raphinha

More bad news as far as possible outgoings are concerned came in another national newspaper over the weekend. The Metro claims that Raphinha could head to Manchester United, with new manager Erik ten Hag eager to bolster the team's scoring potential.

The Metro wrote : "In the absence of a new forward, Ten Hag will target a goalscoring winger."

Of course, there is a long queue of teams eager to sign Raphinha in the summer. Whether he will see Manchester United as the best place for his talent is yet to be seen.
