Leeds United transfer rumours as Manchester United find Illan Meslier alternative

Here are your Leeds United transfer rumours on Monday, June 12.

Manchester United to target Jordan Pickford over Illan Meslier

Manchester United will target a move for Jordan Pickford this summer over Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier.

That is according to The Sun journalist Allan Nixon, who claims on his Patreon page that the Red Devils have shelved plans to try and sign the Leeds goalkeeper after his dip in form at the end of the season.

They will instead focus their efforts on trying to sign England number one, Pickford, who recently signed a new contract with Everton.

Everton keen on Joel Robles move

The same report claims the Toffees are keen to sign Leeds United goalkeeper Joel Robles this summer as cover in their goalkeeping department.

Robles signed for Leeds on a one-year deal last summer, initially as third choice goalkeeper. But the former Atletico Madird and Wigan Athletic shotstopper not only usurped Kristoffer Klaesson as second choice, but also ended the season as first choice goalkeeper under Sam Allardyce.

The Spaniard is out of contract at the end of this month and although there has been some talk of him extending his stay at Elland Road, he could be offered the chance to return to Everton - where he previously spent five seasons.

Toffees boss Sean Dyche wants to add quality cover and Robles is thought to be high on his list of transfer priorities.
