A look at the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Wednesday, May 17.
Leeds United linked with sensational James Milner return
James Milner could be set for an emotional return to Leeds United if they stave off relegation. According to the Mail, the Whites are looking to sign the veteran midfielder at the end of his Liverpool contract this summer.
Brighton are said to be the front runners for his signature with a number of offers on the table for the 37-year-old. Milner came through the youth set-up at Leeds before leaving for Newcastle United in 2004 and is still held in high regard by the Elland Road faithful.
The midfielder has won all there is to win in the domestic game and is approaching the final few years of his career. He's one of a number of older players that are out of contract at Jurgen Klopp's side this summer with the Reds looking to rebuild an aging midfield.
Whites 'target' slammed after dismal summer move
AC Milan striker Charles de Ketelaere has been slammed for his performances this season after notching just one assist in 38 games. He's been criticised by former Milan journalist Giuseppe Sabadini, who told Milan News: “In my opinion the squad was not built well. The players have no spare parts and are visibly tired.
“I didn’t understand the purchase of De Ketelaere. I don’t know if it’s an acclimatisation problem, but he hasn’t been able to prove anything. I don’t remember a positive performance from him.”
Leeds have been linked with a summer loan move for the young Belgian forward, who has endured a torrid time in Italy. The youngster was linked with a move to Elland Road last summer with the Whites offering more money that the Italian club, but De Ketelaere opted to move to the then Italian champions.
