Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Thursday, April 7.
Ian Wright doesn’t expect Phillips summer departure
Debate regarding the future of Kalvin Phillips rages on as the opening of the summer transfer window comes into view. A number of clubs have been linked with a big-money move for the Leeds star but he may well choose to extend his contract at Elland Road at the end of the season.
Ian Wright, who has regularly spoken about the Whites with fondness, believes the England midfielder will stay put for now. He said on the Wrighty’s House podcast: “I don’t see him leaving. He should stay for a while. He’s somebody that’s going to be wanted, simply because of the way he’s playing, how good he is in that position.

“He’s going to be integral in the future for England. At some stage, he’ll obviously want to play at the levels, in the Champions League because that’s what his talent deserves.”
Leeds have ‘sounded out’ Spanish left-back
The idea of Leeds going back into the La Liga market this summer might worry a large proportion of fans due to the track records of the players who have been signed from that part of Europe in the last couple of years. Junior Firpo is the most recent example of that and he has really struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League since making the switch from Barcelona last summer.
The Whites are reportedly eyeing up another left-back from the Spanish left-back as they have ‘sounded out’ the idea of bringing Javi Galan to the club, according to Mundo Deportivo. Although, a move for the 27-year-old might not be easy given the fact that Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Sevilla have all been credited with an interest in Galan.
Arsenal close to contract agreement for Leeds-linked youngster
Leeds have made their youth recruitment policy clear in the last couple of transfer windows as they have made a conscious effort to improve the club’s development squads. 18-year-old Arsenal striker Khayon Edwards has reportedly been on the radar of those at Elland Road for a while but their potential pursuit looks as though it may end in failure.
The Sun are claiming that he is on the verge of signing his first professional contract with the Gunners despite the interest from elsewhere. Although, there is still a chance that he might not extend his deal at the Emirates and Leeds, as well as Chelsea and Newcastle, will keep a keen eye on developments in North London.
