Leeds United transfer news as Whites told Dominik Livakovic move a 'no brainer' after reported fee

A look at the latest Leeds United transfer news on Friday, 23 December.

Dominik Livakovic move a 'no brainer' for Leeds United

Leeds United have been told a move for Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic would be a no brainer after the Whites were linked with a £9million move. The shot stopper was one of the standout performers as Croatia finished third in the World Cup in Qatar.

“I do not think so," Hutton told Football Insider when asked about whether the price tag was too high for Leeds United. “I think with the money that has been splashed about in the English Premier League, £9m is a bit of a steal.

"They have got Meslier who I think is an excellent goalkeeper, we do not really know what his future holds. Like every other team, they have to have a plan of who can come in.

"He was excellent for Croatia, some big saves in some big moments. He can obviously deal with the high pressure side of the game. So it would be a no-brainer if they could get somebody in for that price.“

Mateusz Klich deal 95% done according to reports

Foot Mercato journalist Sebastien Denis claims a deal for Mateusz Klich to leave Leeds United and move to DC United in January is 95% done. The Polish international has been a mainstay in the Whites team since his arrival, but has struggled for consistent game time since Jesse Marsch was appointed head coach.

At 32-years-old, Klich is now set to join Wayne Rooney's side in the MLS when the January transfer window opens. Despite clocking up 192 appearances for Leeds, Klich has spent the majority of this season on the bench, with his lack of game time a huge part in his omission from Poland's World Cup squad.

Sebastien Denis tweeted: "“Info: Mateusz Klich will leave Leeds United. The Polish international midfielder is set to join MLS outfit DC United. Deal completed at 95%.”
