Leeds United fans are hopeful that their side can bounce back and return to winning ways as they host Aston Villa on Thursday evening.
The Whites suffered their fifth straight defeat when they were beaten 1-0 at Leicester City on the weekend. Harvey Barnes' second-half strike proved to the difference between the two teams, but it was a performance to be pleased about from Jesse Marsch's side.
Meanwhile, Steven Gerrard's Villa recorded back-to-back wins for the first time since December with an impressive 4-0 success over Southampton. Phillipe Coutinho had a hand in two goals and could've grabbed at least a brace, while Danny Ings, Ollie Watkins and Matty Cash were also threatening in the third.
It's poised to be another tough test for the Whites, but they will need to start picking up points sooner rather than later as they aim for Premier League survival. Leeds currently sit in 16th, just two points above the relegation zone heading into the final 11 games of the season.
Leeds supporters have been speaking on Twitter ahead of the clash and some believe that a win could be a massive statement given that Everton, Norwich City, Burnley and Watford all lost on the weekend.
Here is what fans had to say on social media.
@LiamMoo19110227: I think a win on Thursday will really hit the bottom 3 hard.
@lufcThommo: Surely the bottom 4 all losing gives the lads a huge boost! On Thursday they need to be pumped! All at it.. No exceptions! Don't let Coutinho dictate play, get in their faces! Come on now lads.. This is our time to start putting a run together! #lufc
@AndyGamingMad: Looking forward to Thursday night footy at Elland Road #lufc v Villa
@hindsyy: Just watching #AVFC vs Saints and my god it looks like a game of FIFA, could've been 6/7 easily, of course, Villa playing us Thursday.
@ConnorMOT92: It was great to see Bamford back with the squad on Saturday, hopefully gets some minutes against Villa on Thursday. #LUFC
@murgs78: #lufc currently bottom of the form table over last 5 games with 5 defeats. Need at least a point against Villa to get out of this hole. Won't be easy with Coutinho at 100%.
@design_jay: I for one am optimistic about this team picking up points. We will blow Villa off the park if we take our chances. Roll on Thursday #lufc
@EmptyUK: I just don’t like the ‘we played well but didn’t get any points’ mentality. I don’t feel there’s much buffer for the fluffy stuff. Regardless, we need 6 points from Villa and Norwich now. I have hope that there are 3 worse teams in the league. I watched Burnley, wow. #LUFC
@BrotherEtero: Would love at least a point against Villa. Granted, we may as well admit defeat if we can't beat Norwich
