Leeds United tipped to save millions by revisiting transfer target with West Ham also linked

Reports have suggested that Leeds United are still interested in signing Torino full-back Ola Aina this summer. The Whites supposedly wanted to bring the 25-year-old to the Whites in January, but he decided to stay at the Serie A club for the remainder of the season.

But according to Calciomercato, Leeds, West Ham United and Crystal Palace are amongst the three Premier League sides who have been linked with the 25-year-old. The source claimed that he could available on the 'cheap' after struggling for game time this term.

Leeds only missed out on Aina after his replacement at Torino, Mohamed Fares, was ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a badly timed cruciate ligament injury. However, Aina hasn't played a single minute since that point and has seemingly fallen out of favour at the Italian side.

It is understood Torino president Urbano Cairo wanted to recoup the £9million they paid for Aina in January, however, it could prove hard for anyone to splash that on him given he is currently out of the side. He has made just 16 appearances all season, starting in a variety of positions.

The report continued to claim that the defender's transfer value 'is falling more and more' heading into the summer, which could allow Leeds, Palace or West Ham to pick him up for excellent value. All three Premier League sides have been linked with signing a new right-back at the end of the season.

Aina spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Fulham and was impressive throughout despite their relegation to the Championship. He was an ever-present in the side, scoring twice and grabbing one assist in 31 games and his defensive and offensive attributes could bolster Leeds' options in that department.

Luke Ayling has been Leeds' first-choice right-back this term but has struggled for regular fitness, while Stuart Dallas, Jamie Shackleton and Diego Llorente have also had to fill in at times. The Nigerian international could bring plenty of experience and quality to Jesse Marsch's side as they try to push forward following a mixed campaign.
