Leeds United team news as World Cup stars feature in strong line-up for Real Sociedad friendly

Jesse Marsch has named something close to his strongest Leeds United side available this evening to take on Real Sociedad in a friendly at Elland Road. The Whites have less than two weeks to wait until their Premier League campaign gets up and running again once more against Manchester City and Jesse Marsch will be keen to see a strong showing from his side.

Joel Robles gets the nod between the sticks once more, with Illan Meslier missing out through illness, and he’ll be making his first appearance in Leeds colours at Elland Road. Kristoffer Klaesson has been named on the bench, though, after recovering from his own bout of illness.

Rasmus Kristensen and Brenden Aaronson are both involved following their World Cup exploits, but Tyler Adams will be given a few more days to recover after skippering the USA in Qatar. As such, Adam Forshaw gets a chance to stake a claim in the middle of the park and he’ll now a strong performance could seal a spot in the starting XI against Man City, with Adams suspended.
