Leeds United team news as Wilfried Gnonto handed full debut at Tottenham Hotspur

Wilfried Gnonto makes his first start for Leeds United this afternoon as they take on Tottenham Hotspur in north London this afternoon. Jesse Marsch has made just one change to the Premier League side that saw off Bournemouth at Elland Road a week ago and he’ll be keen to see his Whites pick up their third league win in a row.

Gnonto played 45 minutes against the Cherries last time out, coming on at the break and helping to turn the game in Leeds’ favour. As such, after such an impressive performance, the Italy international steps into the starting line-up for the very first time to replace Jack Harrison.

Harrison picked up a minor knock in the Carabao Cup defeat to Wolves on Wednesday night and despite travelling with the squad he hasn’t been risked. Sam Greenwood, who also had a key role to play against Bournemouth, must make do with a bench spot.

There’s no Patrick Bamford after he picked up a hip issue in training last week, while Mateusz Klich is also missing through injury. Joe Gelhardt was taken off at Molineux with an injury but he has travelled to the capital and he’ll be on the bench.

Mateo Joseph, Darko Gyabi and Sonny Perkins are all including on the bench and they would be making their Premier League debuts should Marsch look their way.

Leeds United: Illan Meslier; Rasmus Kristensen, Robin Koch, Liam Cooper, Pascal Struijk; Marc Roca, Tyler Adams; Wilfried Gnonto, Brendan Aaronson, Crysencio Summerville; Rodrigo

Bench: Joel Robles, Luke Ayling, Junior Firpo, Diego Llorente, Sam Greenwood, Darko Gyabi, Mateo Joseph, Joe Gelhardt, Sonny Perkins.
