Carney Chukwuemeka, who has been linked with Leeds United, is set to join Chelsea.
Chelsea have agreed a fee of £20 million with Aston Villa for the young midfielder, and he will now travel to London to discuss personal terms and to complete a medical.
There has been a whole transfer saga surrounding Chukwuemeka this summer, with Leeds linked with a move, along with the likes of Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan. The Daily Mail first reported the Whites' interest in Chukwuemeka, but it always seemed unlikely they'd be able to pull off the move, given they were up against clubs who could offer the pull of European football.
Chelsea have fought off fierce competition in a shock move for the 18-year-old. The midfielder's future has been uncertain for a while, with Chukwuemeka refusing to sign a new contract at Villa Park, despite being highly-rated by Steven Gerrard.
Chukwuemeka was part of the England-Under 19s side that won the European Championship this summer, scoring three times and assisting twice during the tournament.
Leeds are looking to add a left-back and a forward to their squad before the transfer window shuts. So far this summer, Rasmus Kristensen, Brenden Aaronson, Marc Roca, Darko Gyabi, Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra have all signed on the dotted line at Elland Road.
