Leeds United takeover issue could spell end of potential Premier League deal

Leeds United have placed everything on hold until 49ers Enterprises' takeover of the club goes through. As things stand Andrea Radrizzani still holds the controlling stake in Leeds, and so signs off on any deals.

That's why the Whites are yet to confirm the appointment of their new manager, with the 49ers expected to announce Daniel Farke as their new manager the moment the takeover deal is ratified by the EFL. It's also why any potential player arrivals or departures are also seemingly on hold.

Leeds' squad returned for pre-season training today, with those who were not involved in international football due at Thorp Arch to begin their preparations for the new campaign. They do so with a number of them expecting to be gone before the new season begins.

Among those is USA international Brendan Aaronson, who is understood to have a clause in his contract which would allow him to head out on loan next season. Premier League side Fulham are known to have shown an interest in Aaronson, however, according to The Mirror, that interest has now ended.

The former Red Bull Salzburg player is liked by Marco Silva, who saw him as a potential new signing to play in the number 10 position, however Fulham are now thought to have moved on from Aaronson, perhaps frustrated by the lack of movement at Leeds. Aaronson is not short of other admirers and could find himself on a plane to Germany soon, with Union Berlin heavily linked with making a play for him.
