Leeds United supporters welcome Max Wober signing as Whites begin 2023 with market success

Leeds United fans have given their thoughts on their first signing in the January transfer window as the club announced Red Bull Salzburg centre-back Max Wober has penned a four-and-a-half year deal to move to Elland Road.

The Austrian international has long been on the Whites' radar and manager Jesse Marsch will be pleased he's beaten other clubs to the dynamic defender who can also slot in at left-back.

While at Salzburg, the 24-year-old was part of a side that won three Austrian Bundesliga league titles and three Austrian cups in a row while breaking into the national team setup, now with 13 senior caps to his name.

Wober's move to Leeds is a reunion not just with Marsch but also former teammates Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen who swapped Austria for England in the summer last year.

Many took to social media to discuss the signing, with many delighted at the announcement with some welcoming him to the club as they cross their fingers for a busy month of incomings...
