Leeds United supporters say same thing about anti-Leeds chants at World Matchplay darts

Anti-Leeds United chants broke out among the crowd at the World Matchplay darts at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool on Friday night. Chants of 'we all hate Leeds, scum' could be heard loud and clear during the early stages of the quarter-final clash between Dutch pair Danny Noppert and Dirk van Duijvenbode.

Darts is a sport popular with football fans, and chants heard on the terraces are often heard at darts tournaments across the country. Some Leeds fans claim that they heard the chant being sang among the crowd in Blackpool during the action earlier this week.

However, despite the nature of the chanting, most Leeds fans on social media have chosen to take it as a back-handed compliment.

"We all hate Leeds scum being sung from the crowd at the darts! #lufc," was tweeted by @Ross_Pearce.

"'We all hate Leeds scum' at the darts against between two Dutchmen. People hate to admit it, but we literally live rent free in everyone's heads #lufc," said Whites supporter @matteohib94.

@nettelfield tweeted: "And yet again. We all hate Leeds scum rings out in Blackpool at the darts."

In the game where anti-Leeds chanting could be heard, Noppert beat van Duijvenbode 16-11 to reach the semi-finals. The tournament ends on Sunday evening.
