Leeds United supporters reflect on 'disastrous' Raphinha absence for Wolves clash

Leeds United fans have delivered their reaction after it was confirmed that Raphinha was missing from the squad to face Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 25-year-old has tested positive for Covid-19 and has been replaced by Jack Harrison in the starting XI.

That's the only alteration to the Leeds team which beat Norwich City last time out, while Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper return to the squad for the first time since December 5. However, the duo are restricted to places on the bench with Jesse Marsch unwilling to risk their fitness from the start following a three-month injury lay-off.

It's a huge game in the context of Leeds' hopes of staying in the Premier League after Everton's 1-0 win over Newcastle United on Thursday. And Raphinha's absence has shocked some Whites fans.

Here is what some fans had to say on social media.

@Keirangraham19: Rapha testing positive for covid isn’t good news for us, but still a good enough team to get a result here. Class to see Phillips and Coops back in the squad

@tomgormley22: Of course Raphinha is out. God forbid we have a full strength team at any point this season. Bamford and Phillips in the squad together for the first time in 15 games so only makes sense for our best player to get covid now

@AllanSansome: Pretty disastrous to lose Raph for this one. It's the kind of game that teams who stay up find a way to get something from. Just win #LUFC #MOT

@FootyAnalyKris: The fact we have 4 centre halves on the bench is annoying me more than Raph being out haha

@JoshAHobbs: Rapha out is never a good thing but let it be the case that it’s just that he’s out with an asymptomatic covid case and he’s back for all the other games. Can’t afford to miss him for Southampton, Watford, Palace

@mightywhitespod: Raph rumours were right then. Harrison has been very poor in his last couple so hoping for a reaction. Come on Leeds. #lufc #MOT

@Crowther9195: No Raph but glad to see Rodrigo is fit enough. Glad Phillips isn't starting, would rather keep him rested ready for the upcoming fixtures. Still think we could push for a draw

@ThrultAllLUFC: Raph obviously a huge loss for the next 10 days roughly. Cooper and Phillips on the bench. Marsch describes their potential for tonight as 10-15 mins, so likely not coming on unless we have something to protect.

@lufc_davet: Disappointing about rapha but having coops and KP back is massive! Strongest bench we've had in months. Cmon lads big shift tonight

@Bazzbawls: Well, at least we'll hopefully see Summerville today. We're still a capable team, COME ON LEEDS.
