Leeds United supporters have been reacting on social media after the Whites announced the signing of Joel Robles.
The goalkeeper, who has put pen to paper on a one-year deal at Elland Road, will provide competition for Illan Meslier and Kristoffer Klaesson. Robles has previously had spells in England at Wigan and Everton, winning the FA Cup with the former in 2013.
Leeds have been on the hunt for an experienced goalkeeper this summer, with reports emerging last week that Robles was the number one target. And fans are hoping Robles can push Meslier.
Here's how Leeds United fans on social media reacted to the signing.
@marcyeboah: "Solid keeper to back-up Meslier."
@MellyMaestro: "It took us 2 and a half years but finally, a back up keeper! I can rest."
@j_lufc_: "Solid. Will do for me. Welcome Joel."
@Trev71382233: "Welcome Joel, we look forward to the young guys learning from your experience!"
@LeedsTactics: "Shouldn’t be any negativity around this deal. Back-up goalkeepers are key to squad depth, and finally the club have realised this. Robles experience will help Meslier and Klaesson and perhaps he’ll hang about longer than a year. He knows what he’s coming here to do."
@Gypster1971: "Welcome Joel. Just wait until you get to experience ER at capacity - you'll love it!"
@Lufc1919MOT93: "Good signing. Welcome to Leeds. Now a left back, please, then a striker."
@WM80_: "Good. More experienced back-up for Meslier, something he’s not had in a few years. Can hopefully push him on."
@lufcluke91: "Very good addition to the squad. Welcome Joel."
@jwh1982: "He is huge."
@reallordgreen: "Really smart signing this."
