Leeds United fans have vented their frustration over the club's decision to implement a 10 per cent price increase in the cost of a season ticket for the 2023/24 season should the Whites avoid relegation from the Premier League this term.
The news comes just days after a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea left Leeds out of the relegation zone on goal difference alone. The club have emphasised that this is the just the second price rise in 12 years and that the decision was not an easy one to make.
A statement read: “We appreciate any increase in the current economic climate is unwelcome, particularly when it coincides with poor performance on the pitch.

“The decision has not been taken lightly, but we believe the new pricing is consistent with both our principle of running the club’s finances responsibly and maintaining our commitment to affordable football at Elland Road. Our prices will remain among the cheapest in the Premier League.”
The window opens at 3pm (GMT) on Monday, 6 March for fans to renew their season ticket, they have until April 7 to make a decision.
As news of the plan to implement a price increase contingent on Premier League survival began to spread, fans took to social media to share their outrage over what they saw as a poorly-timed announcement given the team's form.
