Leeds United supporters fear the worst after dire Aston Villa defeat in Marsch's first home game

Leeds United supporters have been left fearing the worst as the winless run was stretched to eight games with a 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa.

Other than a brief spell after half time, the Whites were second best for duration of the match at Elland Road and that was reflected in the scoreline.

Goals from Phillipe Coutinho, Matty Cash and Calum Chambers condemned Leeds to a sixth straight Premier League defeat.

As mentioned, there was a short period just after the half-time break, with the score only 1-0, where the hosts managed to get themselves back in the game but their efforts were in vain.

The defensive improvements that were seen in the narrow defeat at Leicester all disappeared in front of Jesse Marsch’s eyes in an all too familiar sight for the supporters.

They were taken apart by a Villa side who were just the far better team on the night.

The only positive from a Leeds point of view was the return of Patrick Bamford who was introduced from the bench in place of Jack Harrison in the 58 th minute.

However, he hardly had a touch of the ball in his half an hour on the pitch and was unable to make a difference of any kind.

To make matters even worse in West Yorkshire, Junior Firpo left the pitch on a stretcher in the dying minutes.

The fans were, understandably, frustrated at the defeat and here is what a few of them had to say on Twitter after the match.
