Leeds United star delighted with Javi Gracia change after 'emotional' Jesse Marsch

Max Wober says Javi Gracia's 'calm' and 'matter-of-fact' mentality has been a complete contrast to Jesse Marsch's 'emotional' style of management. Wober was signed by Marsch during the January transfer window, after previously playing for the American at Red Bull Salzburg.

The 25-year-old played just six times under Marsch before his sacking at the beginning of February. Wober has formed a promising partnership with Robin Koch in recent weeks under Michael Skubala, and later Gracia, and is quickly proving to be a shrewd buy.

Leeds have collected seven points from their first four league games under Gracia, and Wober has opened up on the immediate impact the Spaniard has had on the squad.

"He's a different personality, Jesse was very emotional and close to the team. Gracia is calm, matter-of-fact, a different type, has a different approach to football. Don't always push, but also withdraw, defend in your own half," Wober told reporters via Austrian outlet Der Standard.

"I have to win my duels, kick the strikers' ass, make sure [the opposition don't] get a goal. You have to be focused every second, the balls fly in from 30 meters, at which you can't afford to make any mistakes with the quality of the strikers, otherwise it will rattle."
