Stuart McKInstry could stay in England when his Leeds United contract expires, with Harrogate Town believed to be keen on the Scotland under-21 cap.
Harrogate have already signed Dean Cornelius, who turned down a contract extension at Fir Park, and McKInstry will be a free agent when his deal is up at Elland Road.
McKinstry, 20, spent last season on loan at Motherwell, pitching in with four goals, but was pushed to the fringes by former boss Stevie Hammell and left out almost entirely by Stuart Kettlewell when he took over in February.
He played 25 times in total, but only twice under Kettlewell.
Leeds paid a significant sum to sign McKinstry from Motherwell in 2019, but he failed to nail down a place in the first team.
McKinstry has also been linked with a move to Stoke City, bossed by former Accies hero Alex Neil.
