Leeds United should 'push out the boat' to appoint Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou

Paul Robinson says it'll only be a 'matter of time' until Ange Postecoglou leaves for the Premier League, and has urged Leeds United to try and prise him away from Celtic.

Jesse Marsch was sacked by Leeds on Monday following a dismal run of two wins from 17 league games, which has left them outside the relegation zone on goal difference.

Ex-Leeds assistant and under-23s coach Carlos Corberan and Real Vallecano boss Andoni Iraola have emerged as early contenders,

But Robinson insists that Postecoglou would be the best fit for the managerial vacancy at Elland Road, although he admitted an appointment may be difficult with the Australian looking poised to secure back-to-back league titles at Celtic Park.

"There is talk of Carlos Corberan, I personally would love to see [Ange] Postecoglu come down from Celtic," Robinson told Sky Sports News. "It's a very difficult time to get him down, obviously they look like they are going to win the league again. Another trophy for him up there.

"But I just think his man-management skills, the way that he has adapted himself to the Scottish Premiership, the trophies that he's won, and he's got Harry Kewell as his assistant.

"So there's a link already. I think it'll only be a matter of time until he does come to the Premier League and I'd like to see Leeds push out the boat and try to get him now."
