Leeds United set Tyler Adams price as Newcastle United eye wantaway ace

Newcastle United will have to fork out upwards of £40m if they're to sign wantaway Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams, according to reports.

The Toon Army, who are gearing up for their first Champions League campaign in two decades, are on the hunt for fresh arrivals to bolster Eddie Howe's squad ahead of the new campaign and ensure they can compete on all four fronts when things kick-off in August.

USA international Adams, who was a rare shining light in a shambolic season both on and off the pitch at Elland Road, is keen to move on and remain in the top flight.

Newcastle, along with Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa, plus old foes Manchester United and Liverpool have been linked with a move for the New York-born ace.

With the transfer window now officially open, the future of the talented 24-year-old remains firmly up in the air and according to the Athletic, Leeds will seek to double the £20m they paid Leipzig 12 months ago if they're to allow Adams to leave West Yorkshire this summer.

Adams is just the latest player to be linked with a move to St James' Park following the club's stellar season under Eddie Howe, along with the likes of Leicester City duo Harvey Barnes and James Maddison, Dominik Szoboszlai and Kieran Tierney just some of the numerous names linked with a Tyneside switch.
