Another injury boost is expected to land at Leeds United today with Junior Firpo set to return to training with Jesse Marsch’s side. The left-back has only been out of action for one month since injuring his knee at the end of the Aston Villa loss.
In the former Barcelona man’s absence, Stuart Dallas has played at left-back and been at the heart of a four-match unbeaten run which has taken the club to the brink of safety. Marsch delivered the positive news in an interview with Talksport on Tuesday morning, also underlining Patrick Bamford’s steady progress.
“For the most part, we’re getting healthy and strong with almost the entire group,” he said. “Junior Firpo will probably be in training today.

“We’re closer and closer with Patrick, so the other part of that is just now the playing style. Marcelo had such a strong man vs man playing style and trying to rip the players away from three-and-a-half years of being instructed exactly to do that, into what we’re trying to do going forward, has been massively challenging for the players to adapt to.”
The club is not back in action for another 13 days, which should provide Firpo with enough time to at least prove he is fit enough for the bench at Crystal Palace.
