Leeds United have announced the signing of Manchester City youngster Darko Gyabi for an undisclosed fee. The midfielder makes the move from the Etihad Stadium to Elland Road after signing a four-year deal that secures his future until the summer of 2026.
Gyabi was one of the most highly rated youngsters in the City academy and Leeds have high hopes for him as he chases his first senior appearance. The 18-year-old played a role for the club’s under-23s last year, making 10 appearances and scoring one goal as the club eased to the Premier League 2 title.
He won the title with Man City Under-18s the previous season, too. Gyabi is from London and he was on Millwall’s books before he agreed to make the move north to sign for City at the age of just 14 for a reported fee of around £300,000.

The midfielder is expected to feature for the Whites’ under-21 side this season, but it is hoped he can put pressure on those more senior faces in the middle of the park. He is expected to link up with the Whites this week and he could even head out to Australia with the first-team this weekend.
Gyabi has earned 12 caps for England at youth level, with his most recent international appearance coming at under-18s level.
