Leeds United scouts were reportedly in attendance at Celtic's Champions League group stage clash with Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday evening. That is according to the Scotsman, who claim it is possible that the Whites were there to watch Shakhtar wonderkid Mykhaylo Mudryk.
The two sides played out a 1-1 draw at Celtic Park with neither side now able to qualify for the last-16 of the competition. Giorgos Gikoumakis had given Celtic a first half lead, but the Ukrainian side were able to respond as Mudryk netted a stunning equaliser 13 minutes into the second period.
The Scotsman claim that Mudryk 'generally looked a class above everyone else on the pitch' with the Ukrainian international continuing to make waves across Europe with his performances. Mudryk has netted three goals in his five Champions League appearances this season, and has-also netted three times and provided five assists in the Ukrainian Premier League.

Leeds have been linked with a move for Mudryk ahead of the January transfer window in recent weeks but are likely to face heavy competition if they do decide to firm up their interest. Arsenal and Everton are among the other sides also said to hold an interest in the 21-year-old.
The Whites could look to pursue a move in the upcoming window given their attempts at signing Cody Gakpo look set to end in disappointment. They may, however, find themselves at a disadvantage given their current predicament in the league, with Arsenal without doubt a more attractive option for Mudryk if the Gunners decide to make their move.
