Leeds United have sacked manager Marcelo Bielsa after a run of four straight defeats which included heavy losses to Liverpool and Everton.
Leeds went down 4-0 at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday which followed a 6-0 hammering at Anfield and a 3-0 drubbing at Goodison Park. Sandwiched between those two results was a 4-2 home reverse to rivals Manchester United.
The dreadful run of form has left the Whites in 16th - just one point above Everton in 17th but having played two games more and just two points above third-from-bottom Burnley, who also have two matches in hand.
Bielsa led Leeds back into the Premier League after a 16-year absence and guided the club to a ninth-placed finish in its first season back in the top flight.
Whites chairman Andrea Radrizzani said the decision to part company with the 66-year-old Argentine was the 'toughest' he has had to make at the club.
He added: "With Marcelo as our head coach, we had three incredible campaigns and the good times returned to Elland Road. He changed the culture of the club and brought a winning mentality to us all.

"However, I have to act in the best interest of the club and I believe a change is required now in order to secure our Premier League status. Recent results and performances have not met our expectations.
"We find ourselves in a precarious league position and I feel now is the right time to bring in a new head coach, in order to have an impact in the decisive stage of the season."
Leeds, who have now conceded 60 goals in 26 games, are next in action on Saturday, March 5 when they travel to Leicester City.
They are expected to have appointed a new manager by then with former Red Bull Salzburg boss Jesse Marsch, who was sacked by RB Leipzig earlier this season, the favourite to take over from Bielsa.
