One of the players to impress throughout the 90 minutes was Adams, who captained the USA in their Group B opener.
Leeds fans will be well aware of Adams tireless work ethic, which was on full display against Wales.
As flagged by Leeds United stat guru LUFCDATA on Twitter, Adams covered a greater distance than any other player at the World Cup so far, running a whopping 13.13km against Wales.
Additionally, Adams also won five tackles against Wales, as well as winning eight duels in total during the course of the match.
The 23-year-old brought an abundance of energy to proceedings for the USA, who would have almost certainly been worse off without Adams at the heart of their midfield. They will hope he can carry his strong World Cup start over to Friday night when the USA take on England.
