Leeds United have made the decision to part company with head coach Jesse Marsch after a run of just two wins in 17 Premier League games. The Whites currently sit 17th in the league table with goal difference being the only thing keeping them out of the bottom three.
As such, Leeds will be looking for a new man to lead them to survival over the remaining 18 games of the season. While a decision is made, though, United will be progressing without a permanent head coach and it seems the club’s remaining backroom team will take charge when the Whites go to Manchester United on Wednesday night.
Marsch wasn’t the only man to leave his job on Monday afternoon, with assistant coaches Rene Maric, Cameron Toshack and Pierre Barrieu being dismissed, too. However, several key men remain at the club and they’re expected to be the ones in the dugout at Old Trafford.

There was no mention of Chris Armas in the press release distributed by the Whites, suggesting he’s sticking around for the time being at least. Armas joined the club last month, replacing Mark Jackson, who left to join MK Dons in late December, as a coach within the first-team environment.
The 50-year-old is experienced and having held head coach roles at New York Red Bulls, where he worked with Marsch, and Toronto FC, he seems capable of stepping in while a new man is appointed. Ewan Sharp is another who remains at Thorp Arch after joining the club in summer from Manchester United.
Leeds’ under-21s boss Michael Skubala will also stick around. The former England futsal coach has been with the Whites since taking the youth side reins from Jackson in summer.
He was the man chosen to step up to the first-team on an interim basis prior to Armas’ departure and he can be expected to make the temporary switch once again. The goalkeeping situation remains unchanged with Marcos Abad remaining to continue his work.
