Leeds United youngster Mateo Joseph will be looking to follow in Sonny Perkins' footsteps after being nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of The Month. The Spaniard's team-mate saw off stiff opposition to claim the award for August.
Now Joseph, who scored a hattrick against Stoke City at the LNER Community Stadium in September, has been nominated for the September award. The three goals for Michael Skubala's side took his to seven goals for the season, before adding another in the month of October in Leeds' 5-3 win over Tranmere Rovers in the Papa John's Trophy.
Joesph will be up against Evan Ferguson of Brighton, John Kymani-Gordon of Crystal Palace, Omari Hutchinson of Chelsea, Reyes Cleary of West Bromwich Albion and Abu Kamar of Norwich City. All six of those nominated contributed with three goal contributions for their respective sides.

Leeds United U21s are currently unbeaten in Premier League 2 Division 2, with five wins and a draw from their opening six league fixtures. The nominees were selected by the Premier League's Football Development Panel, after PL2 club coaches nominated the best performance by an opponent in each of their league matches in the month.
The winner of the award will be announced on Friday 14 October.
