Leeds United's Jesse Marsch reveals his Luis Sinisterra plan as the Premier League season nears

Jesse Marsch expects Luis Sinisterra to pick up more game time during the second week of Leeds United’s pre-season tour of Australia. Fans have only been treated to fleeting glimpses of Sinisterra since his switch from Feyenoord.

Short stints have come on the field against both Brisbane Roar and Aston Villa in Queensland, but he hasn’t been able to showcase his best as he continues to work on his fitness and spot within the side. However, Marsch has revealed the winger could be set to play extended minutes at the Optus Stadium in Perth, though, where Leeds will take on Crystal Palace with around two weeks to go before the start of the Premier League season.

Dan James, who has started both games in Australia so far, is suspended for the first game of campaign against Wolves at Elland Road and Marsch will be hoping that Sinisterra can establish himself as an option in time for the opening weekend.

“He's clearly a clever, explosive player that can make plays,” Marsch said when asked about the Colombia international. “We thought about starting him in this match, but Dan James is suspended for the first match.

“So we're trying to get the balance right of how to integrate him and make sure that he's got minutes under him and fitness. Probably then the closer we get to playing August 6, his minutes will drop a little bit and Luis is will pick up, so I think we'll see Palace that Luis is likely to start that match.

“I think he's really warmed himself well to the team. He's shown his quality every day in training and I think we'll continue to integrate him in the way where he can really help the team and show what he's all about.”
