Leeds United's Jack Harrison sends message as ex-England man gives verdict on Newcastle United target

Leeds United winger Jack Harrison has said he is getting ready for the upcoming Premier League season with the Whites amid speculation around his future. Newcastle United have been heavily linked with the 25-year-old who is said to be available this summer for £35m.

The Magpies are on the look out for a quality wide attacker, and many at St James' Park believe Harrison would fit the bill nicely.

However, at this moment, Newcastle seem unwilling to meet Leeds' demands. The Whites have already seen Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha depart this summer and do not want to see Harrison do the same.

In a recent Instagram post, Harrison wrote: "Australia it’s been real. Thanks to all the fans for the support out here! Back to UK now to finish preseason and get ready for the season #MOT"

Losing Harrison this summer would be a bitter blow to Leeds, but ultimately money talks.

If Newcastle meet Leeds' asking price, or manage to come to an agreement with them at a lower price, Harrison could very well find himself at St James' Park come deadline day.

But while ex-Whites and England shot stopper Paul Robinson reckons Newcastle have the financial clout to pry Harrison away from Leeds, he believes his former club should make sure they don't undersell the 25-year-old.

"I think it’s going to be really difficult if they let him go," Robinson told MOT Leeds News.

"To let two or three Premier League players with experience leave, and bring in six with no Premier League experience, it’s a gamble. When you’re dealing the likes of Newcastle though, money talks, they have the finances to do the deal.

"If they do sell Jack Harrison, they need to make sure they don’t undersell him but they need to make sure he is sold in time for the manager to put the money back into the squad."
