Leeds United's injury blow ahead of Aston Villa game with Meslier, Bamford and Summerville update

Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch has confirmed that Illan Meslier and Patrick Bamford will be available for his side's trip to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Friday night, but the good news ends there with Crysencio Summerville out of action for a month.

The Whites head to Villa Park in the search of their first league victory since a 4-3 win over Bournemouth back in November. Defeats to Tottenham and Manchester City were followed with subsequent draws against Newcastle and West Ham United respectively.

Marsch's side battled back to draw 2-2 against Cardiff in the FA Cup third round in their last outing, where a 93rd minute equaliser from Sonny Perkins forced the Championship side into a replay at Elland Road.

The American coach's focus is now solely back on the English top-flight. Leeds face Unai Emery's side and go into the clash with a number of injury concerns.

Club captain Liam Cooper has already confirmed he is ready for action after missing the 2-2 draw against the Bluebirds and Marsch has now given further updates on Patrick Bamford, Luis Sinisterra, Stuart Dallas, Archie Gray and Crysencio Summerville.

"Patrick [Bamford] is back in training and will be in the squad, so that's really good news and Luis [Sinisterra] is getting closer and closer but not quite ready and the same for Stuart [Dallas] and Archie [Gray].

"The only other update is that Crysencio Summerville is out for a month [due to] the ankle injury and tackle he sustained in the Cardiff match. He's hopeful that it'll be quicker than a month but but that's what the prognosis is right now."
