Leeds United's best and worst case scenarios ahead of another tense weekend in relegation battle

Leeds United travel to Craven Cottage to face Fulham on Saturday lunchtime looking to respond to heavy back-to-back defeats against Crystal Palace and Liverpool.

The Whites are still two points clear of the relegation zone, but had nine goals wiped off their goal difference over the course of the previous two games.

Fulham got back to winning ways against Everton last weekend after losing their previous five games across all competitions.

LeedsLive has taken a look at the best and worst-case scenarios this weekend.

Best case

Leeds could leapfrog West Ham in the table if they beat Fulham, and the Hammers lose against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.

A victory for Leeds would also send them five points clear of the relegation zone if Everton, Nottingham Forest and Leicester City all lose over the weekend.

Worst case

Leeds could drop into the relegation zone if they lose against Fulham, and the results of the clubs below them go against them.

Everton travel to Selhurst Park to face an in-form Crystal Palace on Saturday, while Nottingham Forest go head-to-head with Liverpool at Anfield.

If Leeds suffer defeat in the early kick-off then Everton and Forest can climb above them in the table with three points each.

Furthermore, Leicester host Wolves, and can move to within one point of Leeds in the table with a win. The two clubs face off in a crucial relegation six-pointer on Tuesday night.
