Thomas Sorensen says Leeds United replacing Javi Gracia with four games of the season remaining "reeks of severe desperation".
Gracia collected just three wins from his 11 Premier League games and leaves Leeds sitting outside the relegation zone only on goal difference.
They face none other than reigning champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in their next outing, and have chosen to sack Gracia, and replace him with Sam Allardyce.

Allardyce has a wealth of Premier League experience but has been out of work for almost two years. Sorensen claims Allardyce is the antithesis of Marcelo Bielsa, but disagrees with the notion that he is a "basic and long ball" style manager.
But although he believes Allardyce's "man-management" skills may be what Leeds need, he has hit out at the Leeds board for the lack of plan and support shown to Gracia.
"It's desperation isn't it? 12 games in charge, three wins, it's obviously not good enough. It's so tight there. People look at the bigger picture. They look at what was done at Crystal Palace, they look at other teams where it's worked," Sorensen told the GegenPod Football Podcast.
"Obviously good old Roy, it was a bit of a shock appointment. Now they're looking at a 68-year-old Allardyce who has got his critics, whose probably the 'anti-Bielsa' kind of guy.
"A lot of people brand him as basic, long ball and direct, but he was at the forefront of statistics, and even Guardiola has said he admires him for the pioneer he was back in the day.
"Where he is now, we can argue with it, but he's a great manager and maybe that's what Leeds need. But it reeks of severe desperation to me because there was definitely no plan or support for Gracia."
