Leeds United's Adam Forshaw looking forward after 'broken record' admission ahead of Newcastle

Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has opened up about his history of injuries, getting back to consistent minutes under Jesse Marsch and how his own and the team's confidence levels are still high going into the New Year.

The 31-year-old has only played 83 times for the Whites since his arrival in 2018 and has constantly been plagued by injuries in recent years. However, he managed to play in every friendly over the winter break and has started both Premier League games in the festive period.

Forshaw has only played six games for the Whites this season but is confident he can leave his injury issues in the past and help his side climb up the table in the second half of the campaign.

"It's been really stop-start for me again, I feel a bit like a broken record with the injuries I've had unfortunately. Hopefully, it's all behind me though and I can kick on and have a really good end to the season."

The central midfielder also highlighted how despite the heavy defeat in their returning match earlier this week against Manchester City, team-bonding sessions and training camps during the winter break meant their confidence is higher than ever.

"I think the confidence levels are really good, we played against a world-class team in Manchester City and we're just looking ahead now to this game and the next one.

"They're coming thick and fast at the moment but like I said before, we've been preparing really well so we're quite confident."
