Leeds United have reportedly been ordered to pay Jean-Kevin Augustin £24.5million in compensation after they were found to have allegedly breached the former forward's contract.
The Athletic report that the Swiss striker has been awarded the financial compensation after he took the case against Leeds to FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber, who 'found partially in his favour'. The club are reportedly appealing the decision.
After publishing their financial accounts for 2021-22, it was revealed that Leeds took a financial hit with the settlement of Kevin Augustin - who only played three games for the Whites - costing them £15.5m. That came after the club lost their case with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Now playing for Basel, Leeds signed Augustin on loan from RB Leipzig in January 2020. The issue initially arose after Leeds contested a reported 'obligation to buy' clause within the deal that would see the Whites be forced to pay £18m for the forward's services should they be promoted to the Premier League.
They achieved that feat on July 17 - after the expiry of the Augustin loan deal on June 30 - due to the delays to the season following the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 25-year-old failed to find the back of the net for the club during his time in West Yorkshire and has since represented Nantes before his move to Basel.
A Leeds United spokesperson has told LeedsLive : "The club cannot comment on an ongoing legal matter."
