Leeds United players have been sending their best wishes to Helder Costa on social media after the winger joined Al-Ittihad on a season-long loan. The winger will link up with his old Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo at the Saudi Pro League side.
The season-long loan will turn into a permanent move next summer, meaning Costa has played his last game in a Whites shirt. His last appearance for the club was in a 3-0 win over Crewe Alexandra in the Carabao Cup first round last August.
The Angolan international, who spent last season on loan at Valencia, joined Leeds in 2019 and played an integral role in Leeds' Championship title-winning campaign under Marcelo Bielsa. The 28-year-old played 43 of the 46 league games that season, and during his time at Leeds as a whole, made 71 appearances, scoring eight goals and assisting 11.
Despite being an important member of the Championship winning side, Costa never truly demonstrated the type of form that he showed at Wolves - the team Leeds signed him from for around £15 million.
Plenty of Leeds United players on social media have wished Costa well.
Adam Forshaw: "Good luck mate."
Stuart Dallas: "What a guy. Good luck mate."
Liam Cooper: "All the best Helds mate!"
Crysencio Summerville: "Good luck my bro."
Pascal Struijk: "All the best bro."
