Leeds United player ratings as Summerville and Rodrigo goals let down by dire defensive collapse

Leeds United (4-2-3-1)

1 Illan Meslier

Not a huge amount he could do about the first goal because he was underneath Clement Lenglet in the back of his net. The second goal asked bigger questions of the Frenchman, who perhaps lost sight of the ball through the crowd of bodies. Some strong punches on Tottenham Hotspur corners. 6

25 Rasmus Kristensen

Solid and did well in his battle with Ivan Perisic. Never looked as exposed as his left-sided team-mates. Possibly wanted better quality on his deliveries into the box. Good block on Harry Kane's shot before the second home goal eventually went in. 6

5 Robin Koch

Kane did not see a huge amount of change out of either centre-back. Koch decent. Composed under pressure in his own third with the ball. Did not deal well with Dejan Kulusevski before the fourth goal at all. 5

6 Liam Cooper (c)

Like Koch, read most of the danger well and dealt with it. Had to bail out an outnumbered Pascal Struijk at points. Leadership went missing when Leeds disintegrated at the back when 3-2 up. 5

21 Pascal Struijk

Given how often he was left with two men to defend against, the Dutchman did better than okay until the late collapse from the Whites. All the traffic came down his side. 4

12 Tyler Adams

As combative as usual and read a lot of Spurs danger effectively. Even provided a useful outlet when Leeds were patiently recycling possession in the Spurs half. Questions to answer on the third Spurs goal as they had a free man on the edge of the box. Petulant, frustrated second yellow late in the game all but ended any hopes of a comeback. 4

8 Marc Roca

Again overshadowed by his midfield partner, but decent in the middle of the park. One or two raking passes opened up the hosts. 6

29 Wilfried Gnonto

Never really had the time and space with the ball at his feet he needs to wreak havoc. Ben Davies and Perisic had him well pocketed generally. A physical welcome to his full debut. Flat on his back several times in 45 minutes. 5

7 Brenden Aaronson

Always positive and popping up in dangerous holes for Leeds, but fouls and rough tackles from the hosts kept checking his momentum or impact. 6

10 Crysencio Summerville

Took his goal so well after holding off the imposing Eric Dier. Looked confident with the ball at his feet throughout and flourishing into the attacking threat many hoped he would become based on his under-21 showings. 8

19 Rodrigo

Two sublime finishes punctuated a fairly quiet afternoon for Rodrigo. Did what he's paid to do and put the ball in the back of the net when it's required. Scintillating form and among the league's top scorers. 8

Substitutes

22 Joel Robles

2 Luke Ayling (on for Roca 79min)

Late change to see the game out, but watched on as Spurs came back to lead. N/A

3 Junior Firpo

14 Diego Llorente

16 Sonny Perkins

18 Darko Gyabi

30 Joe Gelhardt (on for Rodrigo 89min)

42 Sam Greenwood (on for Gnonto h/t)

Didn't bring much more than ball recycling to the attack when Leeds were camped on the edge of the Spurs box. 5

Game was gone. N/A
