Leeds United majority owner and chairperson Andrea Radrizzani has criticised Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez for his celebrations in the wake of Argentina's World Cup triumph. Martinez played a key part for Lionel Scaloni's side in Qatar, winning the golden glove after his penalty shootout heroics in both the quarter-finals and final.
During the shootout against France, Martinez was captured dancing after Aurelien Tchouameni put his spotkick wide, despite Argentina still needing to score another two to win. Then upon collecting his golden glove award in the post-match ceremony, Martinez was pictured posing with the trophy by his crotch.
But Martinez's antics did not stop there, though, as he was videoed in the changing room celebrations after the match asking for a minute's silence for Kylian Mbappe. Mbappe became just the second ever player to net a World Cup final hattrick on Sunday, but it was not enough to get France over the line.

The goalkeeper has now also been seen on an open top bus during Argentina's victory parade in the country's capital Buenos Aires, which had to be completed in helicopters, holding what appears to be a baby doll that has a photograph of Mbappé's face crudely attached to its head. Martinez, clearly unaffected by any criticism coming his way, has been labelled as one of the 'worst winners' of all time by New York Times global sports reporter Tariq Panja.
He said: "Martinez doing his best to be ranked among the worst winners. Such bizarre behaviour. Strange after the Holland game, the weird thing with the glove and some type of obsession with Mbappe who put three past him."
And Leeds owner Radrizzani has been quick to jump on that by retweeting those remarks, before replying to L'Équipe journalist Raphael Sebaoun 's tweeted question, translated from French into English, that asks "what do you call these kind of people?" in reference to two attached pictures showing Martinez's infamous pose with the Golden Glove and the circulated photograph of the player cradling the aforementioned baby doll. The Leeds owner responded in the form of emojis with four clown face ones followed by three vomiting emojis.
