Here are the latest Leeds United evening headlines on July 6.
Jordan's Farke verdict
Simon Jordan believes Daniel Farke gives Leeds United a 'chance' of securing promotion. The former Norwich City boss twice guided the Canaries to the Championship title, but the talkSPORT presenter has doubts over his capacity to do the same at Elland Road.
Jordan told talkSPORT via MOT Leeds News: “I think it’s an okay appointment. He did a decent job [at Norwich] in the end. It’s got sense to it. It’s not some stupid, half-baked American appointment with no real substance to it.
“This guy has gotten you out of the Championship, so clearly Leeds should be in the business of getting out of the Championship at the first available opportunity while most of the money of the Premier League parachute payments is available.
“The financial impact is less deep than being in there for a second season, because then you really are having to cut your cloth accordingly, sell players because the distributions are diminished quite significantly in the second season. I think he gives them a chance.”

Farke on transfers
Myriad transfers are coming for Leeds United in a relentless two months which will see the current squad transformed before deadline day. Daniel Farke was clear on day one, after intense talks with Nick Hammond, the squad he inherits this week will not be the group he sends into battle from September 2 onwards.
The manager and interim football advisor, each hired within the last three weeks at Elland Road, will become critical figures in the reshaping of this relegated squad. Diego Llorente, Robin Koch and Brenden Aaronson will be the first of last season’s senior names to move on, but they will be far from the last.
While Farke is arriving relatively late in the summer compared to most close-season appointments, he has made it clear talks with Hammond began well before his eventual signature on Tuesday. They may be behind schedule, but this is not a group of decision-makers beginning from a standing start.

McKennie latest
Weston McKennie is in talks over a summer switch to Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, according to reports in both Italy and America. The former Leeds United midfielder is due to return to Juventus to begin pre-season shortly, but it seems he has no future at the Turin club.
As such, a summer move looks likely to be on the cards and after brief links with Roma, it seems Dortmund, who were pipped to the German title on the final day last time around, are keen to secure McKennie’s services. According to ESPN, talks are progressing between the two parties and with the German outfit keen to strengthen their midfield numbers following the sale of Jude Bellingham.
McKennie spent part of his childhood in Germany and began his playing career at Schalke, a stone’s throw away from Dortmund. The midfielder, then, may be keen to return to the country where he made his name to get his career back on track after a tough stint at Elland Road with Leeds.
