Leeds United news with Cody Drameh a wanted man and Marcelo Bielsa backed for Bournemouth

Your Leeds United morning headlines for Monday, November 14.

Drameh wanted

Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund are monitoring Cody Drameh, according to the Daily Mail. An England under-21 international, the right-back has only made one Premier League appearance all season - the 5-2 defeat at Brentford in September.

Drameh spent time out on loan at Cardiff City earlier this year but has found game time limited since returning to Yorkshire. The fact Newcastle and Dortmund are interested shows there is talent there, with the latter renowned for developing young English talent.

New sporting director on Tyneside Dan Ashworth has also prioritised bolstering the club’s academy since his appointment in June. With 18 months on his contract, Leeds may be tempted to offload the defender in January.

Bielsa backed for Bournemouth

Former Premier League striker and talkSPORT pundit Tony Cascarino has said that if ex-manager Marcelo Bielsa does take the Bournemouth job, they will start playing 'fearless' football.

The Argentinian was in charge at Elland Road for four seasons from 2018 to 2022 and oversaw the Whites' promotion from the Championship and return to the English top flight.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Cascarino praised Bielsa's style of play, claiming that he could change Bournemouth for the better if they play how he did at Leeds.

"He plays fearless football. Sometimes you can come away thinking ‘did I just witness that?’ [when he was at] Leeds and the way they played.

"They can be beaten by anybody and they can beat anybody. When it’s good it’s great, it’s much more than that, it’s terrific. But it can be bad and suddenly everyone’s going ‘you can’t play football like that’.

Unwanted record

Leeds have become the first team in almost 10 years to lose a Premier League match in which they have been leading on three separate occasions. The Whites were beaten 4-3 at Tottenham Hotspur following Rodrigo Bentancur's quickfire brace in the final 10 minutes.

Leeds had gone in front through Crysencio Summerville inside the opening 10 minutes, with Rodrigo Moreno also putting Jesse Marsch's side 2-1 and 3-2 ahead. But Leeds failed to hold onto any of those leads and left the capital frustrated and empty-handed.

Leeds ‘naive’ - Shearer

BBC pundit Alan Shearer has accused Leeds United and Jesse Marsch of being 'naive' after their 4-3 loss to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Despite leading three separate times throughout the game through goals from Crysencio Summerville and Rodrigo Moreno, the Whites still fell to 15th in the league table.

"I was sat next to Wrighty [Ian Wright] who was watching most of that game and he was twitching and jumping every few minutes so obviously I was aware of what was going on,” Shearer told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"I just spoke to Wrighty who said it was an unbelievable game and maybe a little bit of naivety from Leeds which has cost them a point but great character from Tottenham to come back."
